Dr. Jon Amos, DVM, MS

 

Dr. Amos was born in Burlington North Carolina.  He graduated from RJ Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem in 1981, and received his B.S. degree in biology from NC State University in 1985.  He then completed a Masters degree in Microbiology at NCSU, and spent several years as a teaching assistant and DNA researcher.  In 1995 Dr. Amos graduated from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Amos worked in for Dr. John Jolley in Spindale, NC following graduation.  He then worked for several years in the field of veterinary emergency medicine in Raleigh and Winston-Salem.  Dr. Amos owned and operated Haw Creek Animal Hospital in Asheville, NC before moving to piedmont and opening Battleground Veterinary Hospital.

In his free time Dr. Amos enjoys playing the fiddle, making pottery, hiking with his dog Rosie, and working with the Summit Rotary Club.
